What a week

It wasn’t an easy feat, taking a horse all the way to Western Australia to claim their richest race. But that’s just what Darby Racing did.

After undergoing a permanent gear change, we will most likely see Overpass race on in the long term. He even has another Everest campaign in his sights. Unfortunately with the weather playing havoc at Randwick two weeks ago, he didn’t take his place in the TJ Smith. However, his slot holder RAM Racing didn’t lose faith and stuck with him for the Quokka. Gelding him hasn’t changed his racing pattern either, he’s still proving to be a very competitive horse fresh.

He was purchased for an exceptional value of $75,000 at Inglis Easter Sale round 2. His vendor Corumbene Stud decided to bypass the Inglis Easter digital sale scheduled for April 2020 and instead elected for the physical Inglis Easter Yearling sale which did not take place until July 2020. So far he has won six of his twenty-one starts and earned over $3.6m in prizemoney. He has made his connections forty-eight times his value in prize money.

Inglis Easter 2020 graduates include the likes of Home Affairs, In The Congo, Yearning, and Glint Of Hope (JPN), all of which have a purchase price of in excess of $250,000.
