It’s hard to believe, but we’ve just hit our first anniversary since launching the Stridyl Ownership Marketplace. It feels like just yesterday we set out on this adventure, determined to everyone, no matter your background or bank balance. Stridyl was designed to bring the magic of thoroughbred racing to you. Providing all the resources and connections you need to join this exciting world.
Where It All Began
Stridyl kicked off in 2022 with a burst of creativity. We launched with the entertainment component of the website, a space to share our content and host valuable information about racing and breeding. It was a labour of love, designed to draw you into the world of thoroughbreds and share the stories that inspire us.
Our first big story was at the Royal Ascot meeting in 2022, where we followed Artorius, a remarkable Aussie thoroughbred. Watching him compete at such a prestigious event was exhilarating, and we were thrilled to capture it all on film. It was a perfect starting point for Stridyl, embodying the excitement and tradition of racing.
A few months later, in August 2022, we released the Paddock to Post documentary, taking you behind the scenes to see what it takes to raise a thoroughbred from birth to its first race. This documentary was more than just a story – it was a window into the dedication and care that breeders and trainers invest in these amazing animals.
Our journey continued with the launch of the Stridyl Podcast, featuring industry insiders like Mick Malone, Brett Cavanough, Glyn Schofield & Sam Clipperton. As well as our founders Hayley & David. Through these conversations, we explored the racing world from different angles, giving you the chance to learn from the experts and join the conversation.

The Birth of Our Marketplace
April 2023 was a game-changer for us when we launched the Stridyl Ownership Marketplace. We saw a need for a more user-friendly, accessible approach to racehorse ownership. Especially since the racing industry can seem daunting to newcomers. Our platform is designed to make it easy for you to find what you’re looking for, even if you’re unsure where to start.
It’s been a year of innovation and growth! We’re proud to have created a space where you can explore ownership opportunities without any pressure of confusion. Our goal is to connect you with the right people and the best horse for you – all the while making it a smooth and enjoyable experience.
Joining Forces and Building Community
Our first client, Darby Racing, joined us early on and is still with us today. Since then, we’ve welcomed a fantastic group of syndications and trainers, including Annabel Neasham, Matthew Dunn, Michael Price & Michael Kent JNR, Jack Pilkington, Danny Bougoure, Viva Racing & Syndications, Flying Start, Monarch Racing Syndications, and The Mail Bag Syndications.
December 2023 brought a special moment for us with the announcement of our Brand Ambassador, Rachel King. Having Rachel on board is a huge honour – she’s not only a talented jockey but also shares our passion for making the racing industry more accessible to everyone.
In January 2024, we celebrated our first collaboration with a racing governing body, Racing Queensland. This partnership was a significant milestone for Stridyl. We are providing Queensland trainers and syndicators access to our platform to facilitate the sale of horses from the prestigious 2024 Magic Millions Yearling Sale. It’s a collaboration that we hope will inspire other governing bodies and sale houses to embrace new ways of connecting with buyers and expanding the racing community.
Looking Ahead
As we move into our second year, we’re excited to keep growing and expanding the Stridyl Ownership Marketplace. We’re adding more horses, diversifying our catalogue, and finding new ways to bring you the best of the industry. Our mission is to create a welcoming space where you can learn, explore, and make informed decisions about racehorse ownership. Whether it’s your first time or you’re a seasoned owner, there is something for everyone.
