This feature on the platform aims to provide a supportive and encouraging environment for both new and established individuals within the thoroughbred industry. It will further shed light on global horse racing and bloodstock events and tell the smaller-scale stories of industry specialists.

I have just concluded an incredible two and a half years of travel, working and understanding thoroughbred industry culture across the globe. My travel aspirations and industry passion accelerated dramatically during my participation in The National Stud Diploma programme. In the hope to create a ripple effect, I would like to publicise some of the educational bodies which host several thoroughbred racing and breeding programmes throughout the year.

The educational programmes presented here are in addition to the multiple thoroughbred/ equine-based courses currently on offer at a large array of universities and colleges across the globe.

International student applications are warmly accepted by the listed educational boards, with the only exception being the Thoroughbred Fast Track programme in which Australian residency is required. Very few of the courses available have upper age limits, meaning it is never too late to enter the industry or excel in a different industry sphere. The programmes collectively offer practical horse husbandry experience in a breeding or racing environment and administrative/ secretarial courses which prepare individuals for a variety of stud and racing office roles.

I hope this list helps to raise acknowledgement of the brilliant educational programmes on offer in the industry and if applicable, helps you to find your next industry move.
