We are excited to have Group 1 winning trainer Annabel Neasham join our Stridyl Ownership Marketplace. While she needs no introduction to the racing world, she has recently hit some amazing milestones for a young trainer. She also has three well-bred yearlings currently listed in the Stridyl Ownership Marketplace.

Early Success

Annabel started training on her own back in the 2020-21 racing season and was very quick to establish herself amongst the big dogs. It didn’t take her long to gain her first winner, Commanding Missile back in August 2020. A few months later, she trained her first Group 1 winner Mo’Unga in the 2021 Rosehill Guineas.

150 winners

Earlier this week, Annabel reached a new milestone in her career since starting out on her own. In just her third season of training, she was able to reach 150 winners and amassing over $20 million in prize money. This is a feat not many trainers get in a season so it is a fantastic achievement.

Stats Speak For Themselves

Annabel has grown significantly since her early days, now having her Queensland satellite stable and her local stables at Warwick Farm and Rosehill. She currently has 329 horses on the books at her multiple training locations. Annabel currently has a 17% winners-runners which is her second-highest season percentage coming in behind her first season at 18%. Some of her best horses would have to be multiple Group 1 winners Zaaki and Mo’Unga, but she also has many rising stars coming through the stables. These include horses such as Learning To Fly, Libertad, and My Oberon.

She currently sits with 8x Group 1’s, 11x Group 2’s and 4x Group 3’s with multiple placings in all grades including in Hong Kong.

Racing Overseas

Annabel has recently started sending some of her up-and-coming runners to international turf. Earlier in the year she sent former British galloper My Oberon to contest the G1 Champions Mile in Hong Kong. While not successful this year, she was very close with her first International runner last year. In 2022 Annabel sent Irish galloper Law Of Indices to contest the G1 Hong Kong Mile. He was gallant in defeat coming in third behind champion horses California Spangle and Golden Sixty.

The Best Of The Best

Annabel has been busy with the yearling sales this year, with three purchases listed on our Ownership Marketplace.

Deep Field x Caricature

This colt by Deep Field was a $180,000 purchase from the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. This is his dam’s second foal who is a full sibling, with her oldest being a two-year-old. He is by Northern Meteor’s record-breaking son who has so far sired 43 stakes winners with 21 of those being in Australia. These include Cosmic Force, Portland Sky, and Isotope.

The team suspects this colt to be a strong two-year-old in the making and will be in work at her Warwick Farm Stables. There are shares available in this colt and you can view his listing in the Ownership Marketplace.

Spirit Of Boom x Stellara

The second horse listed for Annabel is a filly by Spirit Of Boom. She was purchased for $160,000 from the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. She is a ladies only filly and looks to be a lot of fun. Spirit Of Boom is one of Queensland’s top stallions with 83% winner-to-runners rate. He has also sired 19 stakes winners with the likes of Jonker and Outback Barbie to name a couple. She is out of a Sepoy mare who is a half to Group 2 and Group 3 winner, Ektifaa. Her dam was also a lightly raced mare who won over the sprint distance of 1280m.

She is currently being trained at the Eagle Farm stable and is eligible for QTIS. If you’re a lady in racing or a lady wanting to get involved with a Group 1 winning stable, check out her listing in the Ownership Marketplace.

Ocean Park (NZ) x Cool Storm

Our last yearling listed for Annabel is a colt by Ocean Park (NZ). He was a $140,000 purchase from book 1 of the NZB Karaka Yearlings Sale. This colt is by the same sire as this year’s Queensland Derby winner Kovalica. Spirit Of Boom has also sired 3 other Group 1 winners in Tofane, Kolding and Ocean Billy. Ocean Billy is actually the full relation to this colt. His dam was a well raced mare having 27 starts in her career gaining a listed win and a Group 2 placing. Ocean Billy is currently the only other foal by this mare which puts her at 100% winners to runners. He has been broken in and is looking to mature as a three year old type. You can view his current listing in our Marketplace.

We are excited to have Annabel join our platform and look forward to sharing more successes with her team and our audience in the future.
