Bio
This is a colt with a great stride and physical presence, and we expect him to mature and develop into a lovely 3YO with Classic races in Australia the long-term goal.
Almanzor is a son of Champion 2YO and leading young sire Wootton Bassett. He was an extraordinary racehorse, a triple Gr.1 winner and European Champion at three years old over 1600m – 2000m. He boasts an impeccable physique and his first two generations on the track have included Classic prospects and Black-type performers such as Gr.1 Victoria Derby winner Manzoice and Gr.3 Championship Stakes winner Cheval D’Or.
He is out of the talented stakes placed, 2YO winning mare Sitting On A Hill, who has produced three stakes class horses to date including LORD TURBO – LITTLE DRAGON, ALCALDESA and Rapid Falls.
He is a very straightforward, easy horse to like and was great buying at $150,000 from the Karaka Yearling Sale.
