Bio
Shares are now available in this powerful, compact filly by sire in demand Tassort out of Valuta, who hails from the family line of Black Caviar. She is a carbon copy of her sire in the looks department and has a pedigree dripping in speed and two-year-old performers and looks like a precocious type herself.
Tassort (by Brazen Beau) is from an elite family out of the wonderful blue hen mare Essaouira making him a half-brother to champion racehorse and now sire Astern and Group 1 winner Alizee. On the racetrack, he won the 2yo Golden Gift over 1100m at Rosehill in record time before running 2nd in the Silver Slipper beaten only by Time To Reign.
His first two-year-olds have hit the turf running, with the most notable being Manaal, who won the Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes and the Group 2 Sweet Embrace and is likely to be Tassort’s first Golden Slipper runner. He is a red-hot sire attracting plenty of attention and is currently in the Top 5 of First Season Sires by Earnings and in the Top 10 of Two-Year-Old Sires.
Her dam Valuta is by Magnus, whose dam Scandinavia is the grand-dam of Black Caviar. She raced once and has had three foals to race for one winner over 1100m. This filly is her fifth foal.
The second dam Markka won twice over 1000m and has had 7 foals to race for two winners, both winning as two-year-old’s over 1000m and 1100m, and the third dam Rich Haul recorded nine wins—two as a two-year-old of 1000m and 1400m—and went on to be a blue hen in the breeding barn producing Group 2 and Listed-winning sprinter The Heavyweight, nine-time winner and Listed winner Happy Strike, two-year-old winning sprinter and Listed winner Zedrich, Listed winner Born Western and a host of winning sprinters and black-type place getters.
This filly made the final list of internationally-renown bloodstock consultant Paul Moroney appealing to him as an early type. She has the powerful look of a colt, with a smooth energetic action and a lovely swank to her walk, and looking at her pedigree, the indications are she is likely to be a sprinter over 1000m to 1400m and has the potential to be up and running early, and being a filly, there is great potential for residual value as a broodmare.
She is eligible and will be nominated for the Inglis Race Series, which includes the $2,000,000 Inglis Millennium for 2yos and the $1,000,000 Inglis Sprint for 3yos, plus the $5,000,000 Inglis Xtra Bonus Series, which will see 50 Maiden races in NSW and Victoria incentivised with a $100,000 bonus to the winner. She is also eligible for the BOBS bonus in NSW and the VOBIS Silver bonus in Victoria.
She will be trained by Richard Litt at Warwick Farm in NSW, who trained Group 1 winners and now sires Castelvecchio and Profondo to multiple victories, and Listed winners Essonne, Morton’s Fork and Mr Marathon Man.
