Bio
Shares are now available in this strong-looking colt with real swagger from the family of Group 1 and Everest-placed sprinter I Wish I Win, who has a pedigree overflowing with speed, two-year-old performers and Group winners, making him an ideal two-year-old proposition.
He is by European sensation stallion Blue Point—a three-time Group 1-winning sprinter at Royal Ascot at two, three and four years old, who added another Group 1 to his tally before retiring to stud. He has already produced two-year-old Group 1 winners Big Evs (Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint over 1000m – USA) and Rosallion (Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere over 1400m – France), as well as three listed winners in the northern hemisphere, and has already struck in Australia with two-year-old Group 3-placed Blue Stratum.
His dam Delta Girl was a two-year-old Listed winner over 1000m and placed in a Group 3 over 1200m in Australia. She has produced six to race for four winners, with this colt’s half-sister, Nineveh, winning at two over 1000m and recently placing at Moonee Valley in December. This colt is her tenth foal.
His grand-dam Etoile Centieme was also a two-year-old winner over 1200m and has also had six foals to race for four winners, with the most notable being Group 1 and Group 3-placed Marine – Jumbo Future (Hong Kong), and of course Delta Girl.
The great-grand-dam Starcent is a half-sister to Make A Wish—dam of Group 1-winning sprinter and Everest runner-up I Wish I Win—and was a star in her own right on the track over 970m to 1600m winning two Group 3s, placing in a Group 1 (New Zealand Thousand Guineas) as well as winning twice as a two-year-old. She went on to be a great broodmare producing New Zealand Group 1 and Group 3 winner Savy Yong Blonk, Group 2 winner Adelaide Ace and Group 3 winner and Group 1-placed Strike The Stars.
This colt was a real bargain at the Inglis Classic Sale and over-delivers for a horse with this pedigree. He is a strapping lad with a lovely flowing action and a real swagger about him when he moves, and has so much appeal and potential on paper that we don’t expect him to last long.
He is eligible for the VOBIS Silver and VOBIS Sires bonuses and will be trained by Simon Zahra based at Flemington, Victoria, who tasted multiple Group-winning success when in partnership with Mathew Ellerton before recently striking out on his own, with the most notable horse being Golden Slipper winner Crystal Lily.
