Monarch Racing Syndications wrapped up the 2025 yearling sales season in style, securing a hidden gem at the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale – a quality filly by exciting young sire Lean Mean Machine (by Zoustar) out of the unraced High Chaparral mare Purple Carat. This athletic filly shapes as an early runner with the scope to develop into a classy middle-distance or staying type.

Lean Mean Machine, a Group 2 winner at two and three, is emerging as a sire to watch with Listed winners Material Dreams and Title Fighter. The Lean Mean Machine x High Chaparral cross has already produced metropolitan 2YO winners.
Purple Carat boasts a perfect record as a broodmare (two foals to race – two winners) and hails from a family rich in black-type. Close relatives include Group 3 winner Zapurple, stakes performer Anchor Bid, and a strong producing second dam Perfect Groove – winner of the Listed Let’s Elope Stakes and multiple Group placings. The family also features the likes of Through Irish Eyes, Steparty, and multiple Group winners Taikun and Right to Party.

She will be trained by Gold Coast father-daughter team Tony and Maddy Sears, who ranked in Queensland’s top 12 metropolitan trainers in 2023/24 with over $1.6 million in prize money.
